Newsletter No.6
Dear Parents/Carers
Thank you to all of you who came along to support our football team on Monday and helped us with transport. I am please to say that we are now 3rd in the league, which is excellent.
Thank you to all of you who brought in shoeboxes full of goodies for ?Operation Christmas Child?. The photographer has been in from Wellington Weekly News this morning, so look out for the photo in next week?s paper!
Parking
Following an incident at pick up time last week, I thought I would just mention that we are acutely aware that parking for the school is inadequate at the moment. You will appreciate that our options for improving the parking are very limited but it is something that the governing body are currently working on and we hope to be in a position to alleviate the situation to a small degree fairly soon.
F.O.S.S. Matters
·I can now let you know that the Halloween Party raised £177 ? thank you everyone.
·A pantomime trip has been organised again this year to see ?Snow White? at the Queens Theatre in Barnstaple on Thursday 28th December. F.O.S.S. have subsidised the trip, so tickets are just £15 each, which includes coach transport there and back. If you would like to reserve tickets, please speak to me or Kath Rose.
School Uniform
Now that the weather is getting wetter, one or two of you have mentioned that you would like to order one of the reversible school coats which are so popular with the children. If anyone would like to order a coat or other items, please complete and return the attached form with a cheque payable to the school, by the end of next week at the latest. Please note that new embroidered logo book bags are now available, as I know that a number of the children have been desperate to get their hands on one of these!
Forthcoming Events
·We are holding a ?Book Week? during the week commencing 4th December, to raise funds for books for the school. This is a good opportunity to buy some Christmas presents, so please feel free to have a good look at the displays when you collect the children at the end of the day.
·Class 2 will be going to Ashill Primary on Tuesday 5th December to watch The Flying Pizza Company perform ?Jungle Book? ? 1.30pm start. We are asking for a contribution of £2 per child towards the cost of hiring these performers ? please complete and return the attached consent form with your payment by Thursday 30th November. We are also hoping to travel there by ?parent power?, so please let me know as soon as possible if you are willing to come along with us.
