Newsletter No.3
Dear Parents/Carers
Following on from the list of event dates we sent out previously, please note that we will be holding our Autumn term Parents Evening on Tuesday 16th October. A letter will be coming out shortly with more details.
Safety of Children
The Health and Safety of the children is of paramount importance to us. It is for this reason that I have to mention, that children are often seen going out into the car park unsupervised, particularly at the end of school. As you know, the car park is always busy with vehicles going in and out, both to the school and the shop, so please make sure that children are supervised at all times. We would be devastated if an accident were to happen to one of them right under our noses.
F.O.S.S.
·The fundraising meal at The Globe was a tremendous success with £250 being raised.
·The next event is the Halloween Party at Ashbrittle Village Hall on Saturday 28th October, from 6.30pm onwards. I hope most of you will be able to come along and tickets will be available shortly. You may have noticed that there is a list on the main entrance door, of food needed for the evening and it would be very much appreciated if you could write your name against any item(s) that you feel you are able to contribute.
·There are Yellow Moon and School Link brochures attached to today?s letter. Items in Yellow Moon raise anything up to 25% commission for the school. If you would like to place an order, please fill in the order form and send direct to Yellow Moon with your payment. If you would like any additional catalogues for family/friends, please let Mrs Thorne know. For School Link, please hand orders in at the office, or direct to Kath Rose.
·Don?t forget Tim Bragg?s CD is on sale in the village shop and Tim is kindly donating profits from all sales to F.O.S.S., so please support Tim and his musical talent. Listen out for him on Radio 10 too!
·The fundraising tea towels that the children designed are on sale for £3.50 each, or 3 for £10. If anyone would like to purchase these, please speak to Kath Rose or leave details at the office.
Football Tournament
There is a football tournament this coming Monday, 2nd October at Heathfield. We have decided to enter as a mixed girls and boys team, rather than having two separate ones. The dates for the other tournaments are:-
13th November 18th December 29th January
26th February 19th March
As usual, we will be travelling there by staff/parent car but please make sure that you make arrangements for your child to be collected afterwards.
Golf Club
Please note that this will now be finishing at 4pm on Mondays. Due to the football tournament on Monday 2nd, there will be no Golf Club that day.
Book of Excellence 18th-22nd September
Jennifer & Arthur For excellent number work.
Robert For working well in class and excellent behaviour this week.
Francesca For excellent work in Maths on the Fibonacci sequence.
Finally, there are just a couple of swimming, Tag Rugby and S.A.S.P. Club payments outstanding. Please could these be sent in by Monday. For those of you who have paid £14 this week instead of the revised figure of £12 requested for S.A.S.P. Club, there is a small envelope attached containing a refund of £2 per child.
Yours sincerely
Lindsay Gabriel
