Summer Newsletter No.11
Dear Parents/Carers
This will be the final newsletter of the academic year, unless there are any important developments during the next few days!
Important ? The Owl and the Pussycat performance tonight
Can I ask you all to park at the school tonight and walk down to the Pavilion (unless you have a specific mobility problem), as there is a cricket match on at the Pavilion tonight and the car park will be very full already. Thank you.
Anne Frank Performance at Courtfields
As mentioned last week, this is next Monday. The children?s work will be on exhibit in the gym at Courtfields from 12pm-3.30pm, so you may like to go and have a look at this if you are going along to watch the performance/festival. The children will also get the opportunity of viewing the exhibition during the afternoon. The actual performance begins at 1.55pm ? all are welcome!
ICT Courses
Thank you to all of you who have sent in reply slips expressing an interest. Unfortunately, there have been nowhere near the 8 people required for any one course so far but I will let you know if this changes over the next few days.
Events/Reminders
·It is the girls Kwik Cricket at Thurlbear School tomorrow, 2pm start.
·We have a Rounders league fixture at Courtfields next Tuesday 18th July. The children taking part in this will be advised over the next couple of days. As usual, help with transport would be appreciated.
·Don?t forget the whole school trip to Crealy next Wednesday. There are a few consent forms and payments outstanding (£3.73). Please return these urgently, as the children cannot go along without your written consent. Please also remember suitable clothing for the weather that day.
·The Grand Opening of our extension and new garden area is on Friday 21st July. Peggy is doing the honours for us at 1.30pm, followed by cream teas. Hope you can come along!
·We are having a real cricket match against North Newton Primary at the Pavilion on Monday 24th July, 10am start. Spectators welcome!
·Sports Day is also on Monday 24th July, 1.30pm start.
·Term ends on Tuesday 25th July and our Year 6 Leavers Assembly will be at 2.15pm. The Leavers Party/Barbecue will be that evening from 6.30pm. This year there will be no alcoholic beverages on sale, as F.O.S.S. do not have a licence at the current time but you are welcome to bring your own wine/beer along. The usual hotdogs, burgers and puddings will be on sale, together with soft drinks. If anyone would like to help by contributing a salad item for the barbecue, please speak to Kath. I hope to see you all there!
S.A.S.P. Club
Due to the cancellation of S.A.S.P. Club last week, a few of you are due a £2 refund for that session. Where this is the case, a green envelope is attached enclosing the money.
Book of Excellence 3rd-7th July
Harvey For excellent work in Maths.
Elijah For making a beautiful fish.
Ben, Reg
& Connor For helping the younger children when playing rounders with
Ashill Primary.
Finally, have a great Summer! terms begins for the children on Monday 4th September.
Yours sincerely
Lindsay Gabriel
