Summer Newsletter No.9
Dear Parents/Carers
First of all, don?t forget tomorrow is a non-uniform day organised by the School Council. All monies raised/collected are going towards Kingsmead?s Zambian fundraiser and it would be appreciated if each child could contribute something towards this. We are having a Zambian workshop next Wednesday afternoon, when some visiting students at Kingsmead will come to the school.
Also next week, we welcome Rebecca Gibbs (Sam?s sister) on work experience.
On Tuesday, Ashill Primary are coming to visit and we will be playing Kwik Cricket and Rounders in the afternoon. Come along and watch if you would like!
The next round of the Kwik Cricket tournament is after school on Wednesday ? same team and venue as last week. Help with transport would once again be appreciated.
Boyton Visit
Class 2 are off on their visit to Boyton School on Thursday. There are a small number of consent forms outstanding, so please return these as soon as possible. We would like to leave quite early, so please make sure you drop your child at school by 8.45am. We anticipate returning at about 4.30pm - please could you collect the children at that time. S.A.S.P. Club has been cancelled that day due to the trip and all children who have paid for that session will receive a refund in due course.
Owl & the Pussycat Performance
This is still at the Pavilion on Friday 14th July but the time has been changed to an evening performance, 6.30pm start. Please could the children be there by 6.15pm. There will be a collection towards the cost of the venue if you would like to make a donation. Please join us afterwards for a glass of punch!
Crealy Adventure Park Trip
The whole school are going to Crealy on Wednesday 19th July. F.O.S.S. are paying for the cost of the coach once again this year (thank you), plus half the cost of each child?s ticket. Please complete and return the attached consent form with your payment of £3.73 per child, which covers half the entry fee together with a contribution towards insurance. The children are allowed to bring up to £3 spending money (in a named purse/wallet) on the day, for ice cream, etc. if you so wish. They do not have to wear school uniform that day but please make sure they have sun hats/rain jackets as appropriate for the weather, sufficient drinks and their normal packed lunch. Thank you.
Reminders/Other Matters
· Please could all remaining Sponsored Walk monies be sent in by Monday ? over £225 has been collected so far, which is excellent!
· There are a number of rugby shirts and football kits that have not been returned. Please send these in (in a named plastic bag) as soon as possible.
· The Barn Dance raised over £650 which will be split with Sampford Arundel school. Thank you to everyone who helped organise and run this event and to those who supported it by coming along.
· If anyone wishes to place an order from the Scholastic brochure sent out with last week?s letter, please send them in by next Wednesday 5th July.
Yours sincerely

As parent/ guardian of _________________________________, I have read, fully understood and am satisfied with the details supplied about the mentioned activity and agree to my son/ daughter taking part in it.
I know of no medical reason why he/she should not participate.
I am aware that:-
a) Except for visits abroad, insurance arrangements are the same for students in educational establishments, i.e. that the Authority can only insure against the proven negligence by the Authority and/or its employees;
b) I should consider making my own insurance arrangements for personal accident cover for my son/daughter.
