Summer Newsletter No.8
Dear Parents/Carers
The children who took part in the many sporting tournaments and festivals this week did our school proud. We did very well in all events and they all showed great team spirit, determination and sportsmanship. I want to congratulate them all for this!
Next Monday, Years 5 and 6 will be taking part in a professional dance workshop run by Paul Stevens, who they previously worked with earlier this term, linked again to the Anne Frank theme.
On Tuesday morning, Year 6 are taking part in a Life-Skills workshop at Blundells School, where they will be carrying out scenarios concerning all aspects of personal safety. Mr Stirzaker and Mrs Lee will be able to transport them there and back, subject to the completion of the permission slip at the end of this letter but the children need to leave school by 8.30am, so please can you make sure they are here before that time. Let me know if there is a problem with this.
On Thursday, Years 5 and 6 are taking part in a Drugs Education through Drama workshop at Heathfield School. Transport is being provided. Please complete and return the attached permission slip by Wednesday. Thank you.
On Thursday 6th July, Class 2 are making their return visit to Boyton School. Some of the staff have recently undergone minibus driver training, so will be transporting them there ourselves. There is a further permission slip attached for all the children in Class 2. Please return this by the end of next week.
We are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather for our sponsored walk on Friday afternoon. Please could all sponsor forms and money collected be sent in on the day.
Other Matters
· There are several swimming payments and club payments still outstanding.
Please send these in by Monday, to save Mrs Thorne having to make chasing phone calls!
· The latest Scholastic brochure is attached for you to look at. If you would like to place an order, please send in the order form with a cheque payable to the school, no later than Wednesday 5th July.
Yours sincerely
