Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome back! We hope you had an enjoyable Half Term break. Years 5 and 6 really needed the rest after their highly enjoyable and rewarding residential week at Kilve Court ????? and so did Mr Stirzaker and Mrs Lee!!
With the hot weather we have now, I?m delighted to see so many children coming to school with sun hats and sun cream. If anyone else wishes to purchase a legionnaire style sun hat, they are available at the office for £1.50. Please ensure that your child?s name is on hats, etc brought to school.
On Monday, the children in Class 2 joined up with Langford Budville School for a Dance Workshop, led by professional dancer Viv Gordon. The children are aiming to practise this further and perform the dance for you, hopefully later this term during the Community Learning Partnership Exhibition Week, at Courtfields School ? more details to follow.
Kingsmead Sports Morning ? Tuesday 13th June
The year 6 children will be going to this next Tuesday, from 10am to 1pm. Mr Stirzaker will be transporting the children to and fro. Please can you make sure that the children bring an extra drink with them that day.
Barn Dance ? Saturday 17th June at Appley Pavilion
This year?s barn Dance is being held as a joint fundraiser with Sampford Arundel School. Last year?s dance was great fun and with the event being held closer to home this time, we hope even more of you will be able to come along. Tickets are £6 for Adults and £4 for children, which includes a Ploughman?s or a Hot Dog. Please see Mrs Thorne if you would like to reserve tickets.
Swimming
It is now the turn of years 4 to 6 to swim this half term, whilst the younger children do P.E. Please complete and return the attached slip with your payment if you have a child in these years groups, by Thursday 22nd June. Thank you.
Clubs
These will be running as before, with the exception of Tri Golf and Tag Rugby which has been discontinued for the time being. The very last scheduled date for Tag Rugby was cancelled and some of the children are still owed a £2 refund for this. Mrs Thorne will be sorting this out during the next few weeks. If your child attends S.A.S.P. Club, there is a payment slip at the end for completion and return, by Thursday 22nd June please. Also note, there will be days when clubs clash with other events (see below) and may be cancelled on some dates.
